Right now one of the hottest signatures to have in your NRL team is a good quality halfback. Parramatta took a big risk last season chasing down Chris Sandow and managed to get his siganture for a massive 550k per season. Thats a big amount of money considering Sandow has yet to prove himself playing semi final football. I mean if Sandow was a grand final worthy halfback like say DCE or Mitchell Pearce then how much money are we talking about? 600k – 750k per year? Read the rest of this entry
Imaginary Turf War

If in some insane reality I was asked by David Gallop (CEO of the NRL) to come up with the slogan for the 2012 NRL season I’d go with something along the lines of:
“The AFL wants to eat your children and steal your house. Support the NRL”
I mean from every article I’ve read that’s what I think 2012 is going to be all about. Somewhere in 2011 we entered a cold war of sorts. Every second article I read had quotes from former rugby league players and past AFL greats about how the addition of an AFL team into the Western region of Sydney (strangely named the Greater Western Sydney Giants or GWS) was going to affect the game of NRL
