Part 1 of our 3 part State of Origin series
I don’t see any way that NSW can win tonight. Queensland are stronger, faster and smarter than this squad that Ricky Stuart has put together. The ‘Off Season Chronicles’ continues with my thoughts on the National Youth Competition
I can say for a fact that last season I watched 2 NYC games. They included the Grand Final match (which ending up being won by a drop goal) and Round 1 – Souths vs Roosters (where James Roberts scored a hat trick). The sad fact of the matter is that we don’t really watch the NYC (National Youth Competition) and for good reason.
I couldn’t have a website based on Rugby League and not make any comments about last night’s State of Origin match (Some of this might seem rather scrambled because its 12:32am).

I decided that Part 2 and 3 of my Origin series would be my NSW and QLD Dream Teams. I’ve looked at the 400 odd players to have played Origin since 1982 and split them into a team. To make selecting my teams easier I decided to build the team around one player. This player I call my ‘Foundation Player’ (FP). The teams will be built solely on the fact that my FP is the Alpha Dog.

There is nothing better than finishing work on a Wednesday night and heading home to watch football. Pizza Hut call in an extra 4 people to man the phones, bottle shops stock up on Tooheys New in NSW and XXXX in QLD and every fan is waiting because something special is about to happen.
